Oasys on tour with Garth Taylor

South Africa's diverse and dynamic arts and culture heritage is one of its richest and most important resources, with the capacity to generate significant economic and social benefits for the nation. The South African music industry is demonstrating rapid growth and is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in the international music industry. Oasys Innovations, a leading supplier to the events and exhibition industry a proud supporter of local talent, recently demonstrated their support of local musicians by sponsoring audiovisual infrastructure for Garth Taylor's national tour.

Garth Taylor, an adult contemporary artist who writes his own music and lyrics has experienced phenomenal success over the past year. His national tour started in Port Elizabeth at the Boardwalk Casino and at the beginning of December the band will make their way down through the Garden Route to Cape Town. The tour will end off with three performances in Johannesburg, Kimberly and Bloemfontein. Says Garth Taylor: “I have gone back to my roots with the latest album and have tried to keep it as close to my unique sound as possible - a fusion of soul, jazz and funk.”

A number of hits have remained on radio music top charts for weeks. Taylor is most famous for his classic ‘Only With You'. He has shared the stage with industry greats, both local and international, such as Simply Red, Shaggy and South African diva Brenda Fassie.

Says Craig Browning, chief operating officer for Oasys Innovations: “We are proud to support local artists who demonstrate incredible talent. The South African music industry is growing at a rapid pace and it is great to be a part of and support such a dynamic industry.”

The aggregate growth of the music industry, coupled with the increased popularity and exposure of local genres and the variety of initiatives underway to bolster the local music industry, has provided the foundations for potentially explosive growth. This will depend on an appropriate degree of commitment and resources from the various role players including suppliers such as Oasys Innovations.

“Companies in the entertainment and hospitality industry need to work together towards advancing and promoting our local talent. We have partnered with Garth Taylor since July this year and plan on continuing our support,” says Browning.

The company has supplied the band will a full touring PA, a lighting rig, 3kw JBL sound system and JBL on stage monitors, LEC parcans and a state-of-the-art sound craft digital mixer. Backline for the band is also supplied by Oasys.
