about us

A multinational media company, with offices in South Africa and the United Kingdom. Blue Sky Publications was established in 2003 when it launched The South African.

The publication started as a London-based newspaper aimed at providing news for South Africans living in London. It was available in a weekly tabloid format, distributed at the entrances of London Tube stations until June 2015 when it became an entirely online news source for South African news.

Today, The South African, speaks to over 9 million people each month (mostly South Africans living in South Africa) and is often ranked as the 2nd largest news website in South Africa.

In addition to The South African, Blue Sky Publications also publishes the below titles:

SAPeople
SAPeople is a news website with a sense of community that connects and celebrates South Africans worldwide. The site publishes mostly positive content, aimed primarily at the expat market, but enjoyed equally by those back home. SAPeople was founded in 2009 and has since then grown to become the go to site for South Africans abroad whether for news, tips on navigating their new lives abroad or to connect with their roots. SAPeople offers the SA diaspora a place to enjoy familiar humour, stories and breathtaking photos of the land they still call home.

I Love South Africa
In the absence of a strong national brand that focuses solely on the country's tourism and hospitality sectors, I Love South Africa has come to life. I Love South Africa will work alongside the travel and hospitality sectors to support and stimulate domestic and international tourism in South Africa while engaging readers on the unique and beloved areas of the country. I Love South Africa will be the go to source of daily travel news keeping readers up to date with the high tempo travel and hospitality sector.
