Outsourcing IT provider scoops top SMME ICT Achiever Award

Netsurit, a leading South African largest managed outsourcing IT provider specialising in small to medium enterprises (SMEs), has won the Top ICT SMME in Africa Award, which recognises entrepreneurial leaders in the information technology arena.

The ‘African ICT Achievers Awards' celebrates its 10th anniversary this years and was the brainchild of specialist ICT research company, ForgeAhead, in partnership with the Department of Communications, the State IT Agency and EOH.

According to Dorothy Haggard, Sales and Marketing Director at ForgeAhead, African business leaders across the continent are invited each year to nominate those individuals and organisations whom they believe are worthy of recognition for their achievements through the use of ICT.

“Since its inception in 1998, the African ICT Achievers Program has built a strong foundation of recognition and reward for those ICT individuals and organisations that have made a difference to the ICT industry in Africa.

“Netsurit has proven its achievement in business excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship and has touched the lives of others less fortunate. The company has proven that its interaction continues to leverage technology to make a difference in the small and medium business enterprises in the African economy,” says Haggard.

Orrin Klopper, founder and MD of Netsurit, says, “I am very passionate about entrepreneurship and the role that small and medium business enterprises play in the South African economy. We are a proudly South African company and the core of our business is to empower this market through technology and enable them to achieve their business objectives. To win an award like this gives me renewed confidence in our strategy and what we are trying to achieve,” he adds.

Throughout 2008, the company received several awards, the most recent being the Microsoft Citizenship Initiative Award, which recognised the company's efforts in training and development of underprivileged students and teachers in the Gauteng area.
